SMEG was founded in 1948 in the northern Italian town of Guastalla. Guastalla is located in the province of Reggio Emilia, which is known worldwide as the gourmet region of Italy. Like no other part of Italy, it stands for good food and the famous Italian way of life. For more than 70 years now, SMEG has made it its mission to respond to the demands of contemporary living and create household appliances that go beyond their practical utility to become design icons.
